Happy Holidays!

I hope you’re all enjoying your holiday season and getting lots of quality time with family and friends, two-footed and four-footed alike.

I leave you with a few holiday images of my own critter crew. Introducing Vinnie as Reindeer, or the “Vin-deer” . . .

Vindeer

Here’s Ted hanging out under the Christmas tree, one of his favorite spots to perch during the holidays. (I think he’s particularly fond of his lair under the tree because it’s a Vinnie-free zone!)

Here’s one more of Vinnie all set for some serious fun with his new doggy Frisbee, a very welcome gift from Santa Paws. This Kong Frisbee is super tough and seemingly impervious to the teeth of Vinnie, our resident power-chewer!

Happy New Year!

I like the cat under the tree!

I house sat a pair of cats over Christmas. One of them quite enjoyed getting under the tree and batting at the ornaments!

Vinnie looks happy with his new toy.

Ginger got 3 new toys for Christmas. The first, which we thought was pretty sturdy, lasted about 20 minutes until it was in tiny rubber shreds around the house.
The second, a rope ring, is now in shreds and will probably get pitched within the next day or two.
The third is still in perfect shape. (But we haven’t given it to her yet!)

She has a lot of fun tearing her presents apart.

    Hi Mary,

Thanks again for reading and commenting. The only seemingly “indestructible” stuffed toy I’ve found lately has been a ball made by Premier. It’s covered in faux-shearling fabric, has a squeaky and no stuffing. Inside the ball is some sort of flexible plastic cage. So far he hasn’t bitten through it. We’ll see how long that lasts.

I think my dog enjoys tearing the presents apart – i.e., opening them – more than playing with the actual toys too. Idea for next year – just give ‘em some warpped cardboard boxes and let ‘em have at it!

    All the best in 2010.
    Lisa
